Elevator systems
Hydraulically operated elevator systems in which the hydraulic cylinder is located in a borehole in the ground are classified as underground systems according to the applicable regulations for systems with water-polluting substances (VAwS) and are therefore subject to special requirements with regard to the prevention of water pollution (WHG). For the officially prescribed inspection of the earth protection pipe, an annular space seal is installed, which leads to a pressure-tight encapsulation and thus enables the necessary negative pressure measurement. An intact pipe system that has been tested for leaks is important for hydraulic elevator systems to prevent operational disruptions.

The process has been tested and certified by TÜV Rheinland/Berlin Brandenburg and is compliant with Section 19 WHG (Water Resources Act) and the AwSV Section 19 WHG (Ordinance on Facilities for Handling Water-Hazardous Substances). For the officially prescribed inspection of the earth protection pipe, an annular space seal is installed, which leads to a pressure-tight encapsulation and enables the necessary negative pressure measurement.
Annular space sealing with permanent monitoring
The earth protection pipe, which is open at the top and surrounds the lifting cylinder, is encapsulated in a pressure-tight manner using an oil-resistant, elastic and temperature-sensitive plastic compound. The elevator system can continue to operate while the compound hardens. It is recommended that the annular space seal, which has already been installed for testing, and the pipe supply line, which is also present, be combined with permanent leak monitoring. The negative pressure in the earth protection pipe is permanently maintained.
